Manufacturers in the UK have benefitted from increased demand from overseas. However, posivitive predictions of manufacturing output by the Engineering Employees Federation of 3.7% growth this year and 3.2% in 2011 has been tempered by fears that cutbacks in government spending could lead to less spending on schools, hospitals and social housing and lead to a double-dip recession.
